FINANCE DIRECTOR

The Finance Director provides leadership to the organization in making sound financial decision. Manages accounting and finance operations of the agency. Ensures compliance with OMB Fiscal, Administrative requirements, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Provides timely analysis of spending trends, revenue and recommends course corrections as needed. Specific Job Qualifications for this position are:

  1. BA degree in Accounting plus 3 years experience as an accountant (high school and 10 years experience as a full charge bookkeeper or accountant may substitute)
  2. Thorough knowledge of cost accounting principles
  3. Thorough knowledge of computerized accounting system
  4. Excellent computer and typing skills
  5. Tactful people skills
  6. Ability to work independently
  7. Excellent organizational skills
  8. Non-profit accounting experience preferred
  9. Ability to work flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends and any/all hours needed to complete job description requirements.

LEAD TEACHER

General Description of Duties - Responsible for planning and implementing individualized, daily educational program for a group of pre-school aged children in a multicultural, multilingual, bias free environment.

Specific Job Qualifications for this Position

  1. AA, BA or advanced degree in Early Childhood Education, or a related field but course work must be equivalent to a major in Early Childhood Education;

  2. One year of experience teaching pre-school children;

  3. Knowledge of and ability to implement developmentally appropriate, multicultural, and bias free curriculum;

  4. Able to lift and potentially carry a child weighing up to 50 pounds;

  5. Able to routinely kneel, bend, crouch, and sit on the floor for extended periods of time;

  6. Food Handlers Permit;

  7. Able to stand, walk and sit on child sized chairs throughout the day;

  8. Able to communicate in English verbally and in writing;

  9. Access to a reliable source of transportation; and,

  10. Bi-lingual in a language spoken by a DLEC parents preferred.

BUS MONITOR

Transportation Services: Bus Monitor works to establish and maintain safe and dependable transportation services for Denise Louie Education Center students, families and staff.

Specific Job Qualifications for this position: 

  1. High School Diploma
  2. Ability to coordinate pick-up and drop-off schedule with driver
  3. One year experience working with young children
  4. Able to lift and potentially carry a child weighing up to 50 pounds 
  5. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and special events
  6. Knowledge of basic office equipment: copy, fax, voice mai
  7. Ability to complete required paperwork and reporting
  8. Able to communicate in English verbally and in writing 
  9. Bilingual in a language spoken by DLEC parents preferred

 JOB DUTIES

  1. Assist in the establishment, implementation, maintenance and evaluation of a process for a safe, efficient, effective and comprehensive system for the daily and continuous delivery of transportation services.
  2. Assist and work with each other within the Transportation Services Department and education staff in activities which promote vehicle safety and personal safety in the vehicles.
  3. Assist Family and Community Partnership staff in parent activities which promote vehicle safety and personal safety in the vehicles.
  4. Work with Transportation Services and Child Development staff to coordinate field trips.
  5. Work with all staff to ensure the health and safety of children with special transportation needs.
  6. Complete all paperwork, records, and logs related to the position and submit as required.
  7. Attend meetings as required. Participate in team, staff and scheduled meetings.
  8. Translations as required/feasible.

Rate of Pay: $10.14 per hour to $10.94 to start, plus full benefits - part-time
